First official “CyberGONQ” cybersecurity challenge hosted by Algonquin College.<\/strong><\/em><\/h1>\n

On Saturday, June 2 2012 Algonquin college hosted their first Cyber Security Challenge.\u00a0 Congratulations to the winners!\u00a0 Good times had by all.\u00a0 See here <\/a>for photographic evidence.<\/p>\n

The Algonquin College School of Advanced Technology has set up a realistic virtual corporate infrastructure (including networks, corporate files, web servers and workstations) to give the students a real-life experience in how cyber criminals work and think – and how to defend against them!<\/p>\n

Students are learning to apply their classroom learning in a real world situation by competing to attack and defend a \u201clive\u201d company infrastructure from cyber security threats of all kinds.<\/p>\n
